I bought this lamp as part of a set of 3 about 10 years ago for $70 at the Superstore. I remember thinking it was such a great deal and I was so excited to start buying things for my home. They have served their purpose and have been with us for 3 moves and made it to our “forever home”. I gotta say that I was a little sick of the black lamp though and I couldn’t find the lampshade, I’m pretty sure that it got busted somehow over the years.
Having said all of that, I knew I wanted to change it up a little and once again, I didn’t want to spend any money. I had white spray paint, a glue gun, a lampshade that I bought months ago and some rope and I got to work! After I spray painted the base of the lamp and let it dry (in the perfect drying conditions outside) it only took about a half hour start to finish to end up with a brand new lamp.
It’s definitely a lot more my style and I love the way it looks in the living room. I am sure that I will be moving it around plenty of times over the next little while until I find the perfect spot but for now, it will rest in the living room.
P.S. I did spend $7.80 on extra rope as I ran out right at the end.
